Question by studentnumber36: What’s the difference between Jake Locker, Tim Tebow, and Colt Mccoy?
I know they all like to run the ball. But how come Jake Locker is and was projected to be the number 1 pick in the draft? Doesnt Tebow and Colt play just like Locker? Does he play in a pro style offense? How good is he?
Please be more thorough. Like what offense did they run and how really good are they based on what you see.

they all have different dna?
What do you think? Answer below!
the style of offense they ran/run in college
Locker is a pro style quarterback who has played in a pro style offense under Steve Sarkisian, who was formerly with USC. Tebow and Colt McCoy both played in variations of the spread offense, which is an offense that is hardly ever used in the NFL.
Additionally, based on what I have read, the scouts believe that Locker has excellent mechanics in is throwing motion along with a big power arm. Some scouts believe he needs to continue to improve his accuracy.
Tebow and McCoy don’t have Locker’s arm strength, quality mechanics, or experience in a pro style offense. Those are three things that the NFL has always valued the most in quarterbacks.
This is not to say that a spread quarterback can’t be a top NFL QB. The #1 pick this year, Sam Bradford, was a spread quarterback, but he has the attributes – arm strength, mechanics, and accuracy that McCoy and Tebow lack.
Locker has better footwork and accuracy than the two. Tebow is more of a “run-and-gun” quarterback, which doesn’t translate that well in the NFL. The quarterback that Tebow reminds me of is a young Steve Young. Steve was just like Tebow and didn’t do very well in his first years, until he changed his style. Colt doesn’t have the accuracy that Locker has and he had really good recievers in Texas which is why his stats were so high
