How much credit do you give Tim Tebow for Denver’s success?

Question by : How much credit do you give Tim Tebow for Denver’s success?
I would have to say half and half. Denver is playing great D and Tebow is making great plays when it matters. Even with great receivers, I don’t believe Tim Tebow could win in a system with bad defense. Winning is important but winning is a team effort.

Doug Williams has 2 Super Bowls but no one considers him to be better than Marino.

I probably give him about 20% and about 15% of that is what he gives to the team in leadership and motivation. The other 5% is his ability to run like a motherf_cker.

He’s 1 of 52 or so of the team. If anything he’s changed the atmosphere at Denver.

  2. DeathDealer says:

25%. He grabbed headlines everywhere for beating 3 teams with winning records. They only won last Sunday because of their kicker. The press never mentioned Prater’s name.

  3. Math says:

Tebow deserves more credit for being down after three quarters than having a good 5 minutes and having his kicker win games.

  4. Daniel B says:

I’m sorry but it’s all the defense, not Tebow. If the defense wasn’t holding opposing teams to 10, the points Tebow puts up in the final 4 minutes of the game would be nothing more than something we like to call “garbage stats”.

  5. Y!A says:

not a lot…the defense has held the opposing team to low scores

50%. 20% goes to the defense and 30% to the running backs. now, the defense has played great and probably deserve more credit than i give them, but is it because they are that good now or tebow? lets remember, before tebow started, the defense was the worst in the league against the pass and in the bottom 5 overall for a stretch of nearly 30 games spanning 3 seasons (from week 7 of 2009 to week 5 of 2011). lets keep that in mind. the reason i dont have tebow getting less credit is because he can also run. and i cant deny this guy what he does because he piled up 173 of 221 yards throwing in the last quarter on 15 completions to 5 misses (85%) and no picks.

Hard to put it on a scale, but if the choices were “a lot” and “a little”, I would absolutely say “a lot.”

Lots of people are saying that the defense deserves most of the credit because they have been great, and they have, but what people don’t realize is it’s TEBOW that MAKES the defense play well.

When Tebow took over, Denver was 1-4, the defense had played badly the first 5 games and had no confidence. After Tebow started making plays, he energized the entire team and immediately every single player believed in each other.

If Orton was still the starter, I guarantee you the defense would not have been playing this well.

Tebow is a winner, a play maker, and a great athlete. People can criticize his throwing all they want, but the evidence is there—he has been improving in passing every week.

And he has an 83 overall passer rating this season, including 11 TD’s and only 2 picks. That’s taking care of the football.

Tebow is the main reason the Broncos are where they are. The defense has been playing well BECAUSE of him.

  8. Coach says:

Denver was 1-4 before Tebow took over as the starting quarterback and is 7-1 since then, so I believe he deserves a lot of credit. I wrote an article about him for my blog (after the Miami game) at http://bikinihill.blogspot.com/ if you’re interested in checking it out. Enjoy the stretch run!
